S'appenin?

This was a great night out. MIB rocked it ! learnt the dance and everything ;)

Essay's and assignments, getting there... interesting i know

June 1st is when it all ends academically, and the fun can begin

"not a day goes by where i dont think about the truely hated, i fucking love it"... thats a quote from me, just thought it would look more official in speech marks.

Topics... er, well nothing particularly new has arisen... i once again proved to myself that time is a healer, and a good nights sleep (or a couple drinks) are superb aids. - superb and aids, not two words i thought would appear next to eachother any time soon. I sat here yesterday and instead of writing 1000 words on poetry and drama, i pieced together a pretty impressive comedy routine based on downs syndrome and fat people. Never having a go, my mind is just a tad berserk.

This song has been in my head for days now :)

Essay writing?... nahh, I know, lets write a poem.. brilliant.

The Lock
To unlock the door we need not a key
We should study its mechanics mentally
Focus on the hole and the vision you see
This makes the use of a key unneccessary
We aim to break boundaries, rush, and have a greed to learn
Determined to find the physical key instead of waiting our turn
Push n' pull from short to tall, we're never satisfied until the next door is reached
Yet its funny how we never open them for those who practice what they preach
And when we slam it in their faces we say its because life's a beach.. - chair
Spend days in the sun we're not one's to run when its fun its fine when its done we shun
See we thrive of success we never claim that we're blessed.
No its only our gain that keeps us sane
The physical represntation of a key is never lost, always found
We can't help but push and break the next door to the ground
The lock that stands before us is a mere mortal
Forget the hole or the portal
Its not what we learn its how we are taught?
No way. ignorance is a crime and thats a very criminal thought
The need for greed is causing society to bleed
Such a falsified creed
So to society I say stop smashing through doors, stop acting malevolent
Study the lock hard enough, an open clear mind makes the physical key irrelevant.

yeah, im not really sure what started me writing that, I suppose living in London the past year and seeing how people never stop and take a breather made me think that society in general is one big power hungry force that is never satisfied. Perhaps if people were not so fixed on the next goal, and just took time to focus on whats in front of them, stress wouldnt interfere with so many of us.

Oh and yeah im aware the poem is not proffessionally structured, some lines have rhyming couplets and some dont. I just put a pen to paper and didnt really care :)

PEACEEE!

.....Thinking.....

Chances, how to make them? when to take them?...the second question is one that forces the mind into a battle. and the first question is irrelevant, because it wouldn't be a chance if we could conciously make it, right? Chances are simply 'risk = profit/loss' either outcome can bring joy or force regret.
Taking a REAL chance is when you're aware that when all cards are on the table, the outcome is unknown. When every truth is revealed, the conclusion can't be forgone. So when you hear a story of somebody cheating on a partner behind their back and they claim they have innocently 'taken a chance'... ignore it. (im aware this sounds like its building up to a personal sob-story, but dont worry, its not one) ignore it because this person has not taken a chance, they know full well what the outcome would be if everything was exposed; that claim of taking a chance is simply scared selfishness.

... thinking...

So, this mental battle, and by 'mental' i dont mean "THAT WAS MENTAL BRUV".. just to clarify, *hehemm*.. So, this mental battle consists of story-telling. circling around the brain is the risk, and on one side is the image and story of the ideal. The outcome that if life was multiple choice, you would choose this. And on the opposite side sits the image and story of a worst case scenario, the bad dream situation that would much rather be avoided. The more we tell ourselves these two different stories and the more we build on them; the greater the power and meaning of the chance. Amongst these 3 aspects inside our heads... there lies a safety zone ( I may pledge all this to a video game developer actually, its starting to sound like one! ).. anyway, the safety zone is simply not taking the chance at all, forgetting any possible outcome and just remaining untouched. constant. life would be alot more bloody exciting if this part of our mentality didnt exist. Imagine that, always forced to make choices that end in one extreme or the other ( ok now this is starting to sound like a good film idea, im on fire! )

... thinking...

Most people definately end up staying in the mental safety zone, everyone around you might be suffering a mental anguish not knowing if they should take a chance. And you may never know because its never revealed. its kept safe. basically, self - fucking - conciousness gets right in the way all the time, its like the annoying spare part person who follows you everywhere, annoying you and holding you back. Bastards.
Not too sure where im really going with this one.. as the title suggest's i am just thinking and then typing. Never mind. Nothing interesting has happened today anyway. Theres my take on chances (clever use of words there i know) the REAL one's can make or break you... and staying safe can be just as devastating as the break.

k-os..... mind cleansing

There often comes a time when current affiars crowd a person's thoughts, and depending on the individual, they will resort to something that sooths them, something thats familiar to them and something that detox's their brain perhaps. MUSIC is a healer. No questions asked no answers required.

Jay-z is, and will always be THE NO.1 to me, but in terms of an artist that delivers spiritual message and meaning, life lessons, guidlines, morals and clarity in so many records; then there's no better in THE WORLD today than k-os. The man is a gift, unfamiliar globally and certainly never mainstreamed (thank god) and thats just the way he should be. I feel like i could write for hours about this human, alas.. a summary will do. Continue if you will...

K-os
k-os " knowledge of self " the clue's in his title really, he refused to release an ablum for years because he never felt what was being produced was his truth, regardless of the money he would make. Thankfully the day came when k-os found himself and his true voice, and has since released 4 albums mixing the forms of rap, funk, hip hop, swing and reggae. the focus being that every track promotes a positive message. The man however does not promote himself as a never swearing, never testing goody-two-shoes, he simply chooses to avoid writting about drugs, guns and easy women. Simple

Those people..
to 'those people' who say they wont listen to rap because its all the same old pointless delivery. GO AND HEAR K-OS, is and will always be my first response ( even over jay-z to these people ) his variation of verse, beats and rhymes put him above anybody else in terms of multi-talent... have a listen to a few tracks. and HEAR the lyrics!

" im just a man doing the best i can, i might fall short but i LOVE the unseen hand "

4.3.2.1 what we fighting 4.3.2.1 I dont know what for..

For anyone who's read here before, k-os may ring a bell to you.. below this somewhere should be a blog entry that I took from the k-os website forums and it discusses the process of 'becoming'.. might not sound too interesting from one word. yet if you read it I guarentee it will teach you something, and prove relevance to YOU.

This week my itunes has only played k-os, every song, looking for all the small messages that just might make my day a little easier. Hopefully you have something that purifies you're clouded visions ( ok sounding too preachy.. ) but hey, if you dont, I might have just helped you out!

Hat Trouble.. and Cemetery Junction

" you would not wanna mess with him, he boxes for london " the line said to me after i took my hat back when an unknown moron felt the need to steal and prance around in it " as a joke ", fantastic. the statement 'hello im an immature cunt who has more balls than brain cells' comes to mind.

.... This is taking place on a saturday night trip to the cinema, in which after confronting Mr steroid boxer bollocks, i was asked to remove my hat at a bar and was forced to walk around with extreme hat hair, and of course.. everyone else there looked there bloody best. brilliant. next time i wont bother to either:- leave early and have a few drinks before the film, or:- wear a hat.

Anyway, Cemetery Junction... this more or less rounded off a Ricky Gervais focused week, and it didnt dissapoint me. Well written and acted in general and it was certainly nice to not have the storyline thats plugged as " the main, center foucs " getting the best reaction (personally). If you've seen it you will know what i mean, if you haven't then get a move on! My co-viewer Jack came out.. ( wait, gay reference...i'll start over ) My co-view Jack left the cinema claiming that the film let him down, after only seeing one short trailer the day before, i cant understand how the expectation could have been that great, but none the less... he felt the best aspect was the facial expressions of an old man who had 1 line in the film. what a cock.
To round off the now dubbed "Ricky Gervais week"... there's exciting news that he and Stephen Merchant have a new show commissioned by the BBC. Starring Warwick Davies ( the actor from star wars and harry potter, dwarf ) the show is called 'Life's too short' and focuses on the day to day life of a dwarf. so keep your eyes out for that, best be kneeling down whilst doing so aswell.
